Secured by Design
It does lighting” is the ONLY UK “accredited and approved” lighting designer for Secured by Design lighting schemes. This covers interior, exterior and section 38 street lighting works where crime and community safety is paramount. This means we are fully aware of all SBD design requirements so ensuring a smooth adoption of the scheme by your local officer. “It does” has worked closely with the police and SBD and has advised on its revised lighting specification due out early 2013 which aligns itself more closely with BS5489 for street lighting and the ILPs competency framework which is now referenced in this document. Only level 3 or 4 (4 being the highest achievable) designers can design compliant schemes and “it does” designer Lorraine Calcott is a level 4. This means we can cover all of your CDM requirements, SBD criteria and meet British and European standards.
